Now, the long-rumored sequel had been found. And the rights had somehow landed in his lap.
"What's this?" Blerim asked.
But when the film started — and the newly dubbed voices filled the room — something strange happened.

The audience began laughing at jokes that didn't exist in the original. They cried during a scene where a ghost simply stirred a pot. An old man in the front row whispered, "Kjo është historia jonë." ("This is our story.")
Blerim, a tired but passionate dubbing director in Tirana, rubbed his eyes. He had been waiting for this project for years. Vellai Ari — a low-budget Thai action-horror film from 1987 about a ghost-possessed rice farmer — had become a cult classic in Albania after someone illegally aired it on TV Klan during a technical glitch in 2005. Blerim gathered his team: Ermal, a former radio host who could imitate any accent; Teuta, a theater actress who had once voiced a donkey in a children's cartoon; and Gzim, an 80-year-old man who claimed he could "feel" the meaning of any film just by watching it muted.
