Don't just mount the folder. Mount it as a CD-ROM ( -t cdrom ). It takes three extra keystrokes and saves you an hour of googling.
Use the -t cdrom flag:
mount d c:\games\mygamecd -t cdrom If you are mounting an actual ISO file (not a folder): mscdex driver not installed dosbox

There is a special kind of frustration that comes with retro gaming. You’ve just downloaded that obscure CD-ROM game from 1995. You’ve mounted the ISO in DOSBox. You type D: to switch to your CD drive, and then... silence. and then... silence.
