And so, Maria was sent back to Earth. She now wanders forever, searching for her lost sons and daughters. She drifts along rivers and dark streets, wearing a tattered white gown. People hear her cries late at night:
One afternoon, she saw her husband riding in a carriage with a beautiful, young woman. He didn't even look at Maria. If you hear her cry from a distance, she is close by. But if you hear her right next to your window… she is far away. Parents tell their children to go to sleep early, warning them: Don’t go out at night. La Llorona is looking for her children, and she might mistake you for one of her own. And so, Maria was sent back to Earth
