Fast forward to 2021—watching it with Indonesian subtitles (thank you, fansub heroes) hits very differently. This isn't just a movie anymore. It's a prophecy.

Luke Wilson plays Pvt. Joe Bauers, an average guy selected for a secret military hibernation experiment. He wakes up in 2505 to discover that humanity has become spectacularly stupid. The smartest man alive is now a pro-wrestler/president named Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho (Terry Crews, in god mode). Joe, a literal nobody from 2005, is suddenly a genius. His mission? Save a world drowning in Brawndo—an electrolyte drink that’s “got what plants crave” (spoiler: it doesn’t have water).
