The Alpha 1 Fix is still the creepiest version. A nostalgia trip to when the game was actually scary.
This isn’t the goofy, scripted neighbor from Act 3. This is the original prototype. The art style is rough, the textures are blurry, and the lighting is awful—and that is exactly why it works. The house feels like a liminal space. The Neighbor himself is terrifying here; his AI is dumb but unpredictable, and his speed boost when he spots you will make you jump out of your chair. Make sure you are downloading the actual "Fix" version from the GameJolt page (look for the one with the blue thumbnail). The raw, unpatched Alpha 1 is broken. This one works. The Alpha 1 Fix is still the creepiest version

Huge thanks to the community member who uploaded the fixed executable. The original Alpha 1 had a major bug where the Neighbor would get stuck in the air or ignore you. This Fix restores his behavior to how it was shown in the very first reveal trailer. He actually picks up objects to block your path and checks under beds now. It runs smoothly on Windows 10/11 without crashes (just remember to run as admin). This is the original prototype
