Or reject her, and she laughs – "You always were a glitch, Marcus." – and the game simply continues, but every NPC now mutters, "He chose chaos. Good."

The "Special Edition" is not a game. It is a weapon. Protagonist 1: Marcus "Vex" Holloway – Former IAA field agent, framed for a massacre he didn't commit (the "Nightclub Node" incident of 2021). He spent two years in Bolingbroke Penitentiary, learning the criminal code from old O'Neils and Ballas. Upon release, he works as a ghost—a fixer who doesn't exist. His face is scarred, his voice is a rasp, and his only currency is vengeance against the IAA faction that betrayed him.
