Contagion Crisis -v0.3.0- By Welovemonsters «Tested × 2027»
The indie horror-strategy scene has been flooded with asset flips and generic infection sims lately, so I went into Contagion Crisis -v0.3.0- by the developer with cautious skepticism. After sinking ten hours into the latest patch, I am happy to report that my skepticism was misplaced. This isn't just a virus sim; it is a panic attack disguised as a video game.
Version 0.3.0 introduces Asymptomatic Carriers who are aware they are infected but choose to hide it. You have to use "Thermal Audits" to find them. For the uninitiated, Contagion Crisis throws you into the role of a "Quarantine Director" for a secretive global health coalition. Unlike Plague Inc. where you are the disease, here you are the fragile human trying to contain a rapidly evolving pathogen known as "The Prism." Version 0
There is a specific kind of dread that comes from watching your best friend turn into a biological weapon right in front of you. Not a zombie—something worse. Something conscious .
The twist? The Prism isn't mindless. Version 0.3.0 introduces , meaning the virus learns from your containment strategies. If you lock down airports, the next strain becomes airborne. If you deploy hazmat teams, the pathogen starts mimicking human pheromones to bypass scanners.
Previous versions focused purely on biology. Now, you have to manage Civilian Trust . If you impose a curfew too early, riots break out and deliberately infect containment zones. If you're too lax, the infection rate skyrockets. In v0.3.0, you can now issue "Fake All-Clear" orders, but if the public catches you lying, the run is usually over.
