Van Helsing is given a sacred duty: Anna Valerious and the Valerious Oath Van Helsing and Carl arrive in Transylvania on a rainy, gothic night. They are immediately attacked by a werewolf. After a brutal fight, the creature is shot by a warrior woman: Anna Valerious . She is the last of a noble family sworn by her ancestor, Velkan Valerious Sr., to destroy Dracula. The oath is binding: until Dracula is dead, the Valerious family cannot enter heaven. Their ghosts are trapped in Purgatory, haunting the Valerious castle.

As Anna dies, Van Helsing fully transforms into a massive, black-furred werewolf. He and Dracula (also able to transform into a monstrous bat-like creature) clash in a brutal duel. Van Helsing bites Dracula, injecting the werewolf venom. Dracula screams, turns to stone, and then crumbles into dust. With Dracula dead, the Valerious curse is lifted. Anna’s body is surrounded by light. The ghosts of her ancestors—her parents, her brother Velkan (who dies of his wounds), and generations of Valerious warriors—appear. They thank Van Helsing. Anna’s soul rises, and she ascends to heaven, finally at peace. Van Helsing, now human again (the werewolf curse dies with Dracula), watches her go, his face a mask of sorrow and loss. Epilogue: The Memory Remains Van Helsing and Carl return to the Vatican. Cardinal Jinette gives Van Helsing a new letter of absolution. But Van Helsing no longer cares about forgiveness. Meanwhile, Dracula’s brides capture Anna. Dracula reveals his master plan: he will use the Frankenstein key to resurrect his children, then lead an army of vampires to conquer the world. He also reveals the secret Van Helsing craves: Long ago, he was sent to kill Dracula (then known as the human warlord, Count Vladislaus Dracula), but instead of destroying him, Gabriel fell in battle and was killed by Dracula. God cast Gabriel back to Earth as a mortal with no memories, doomed to hunt the monster he failed to kill. That is why Dracula calls him "brother." The Final Battle in Dracula’s Castle Van Helsing storms Dracula’s castle, a towering, organic fortress filled with gears, spikes, and fog. Carl provides gadgets: a repeating crossbow, explosive holy water, and a grappling hook. The brides attack. Van Helsing uses a spinning-wheel machine to impale Verona.
