He never said "one." Because at zero-point-five, the Leading Edge mod overrode his manual controls. The wings folded into a diamond shape, the thruster tilted downward, and the Copper Bullet shot not up, but sideways .

The machine was a nightmare of ambition. He called it the Copper Bullet . It had three retractable wings, a rear fan that could pivot 180 degrees, and a detachable command capsule made from an old soup cauldron. His assistants, twins Pork and Chop, hid behind a sandbag wall.

He hit the ignition.
